Obama Pisses Off The Press Corps: Biting the hand that feeds him

leave a comment »

If you can believe it, Dana Milbank of The Washington Post has accused Barry Soetero of disreguarding the media. Yeah, you read that here and you can read it here:

World leaders arriving in Washington for President Obama’s Nuclear Security Summit must have felt for a moment that they had instead been transported to Soviet-era Moscow.
They entered a capital that had become a military encampment, with camo-wearing military police in Humvees and enough Army vehicles to make it look like a May Day parade on New York Avenue, where a bicyclist was killed Monday by a National Guard truck.
In the middle of it all was Obama — occupant of an office once informally known as “leader of the free world” — putting on a clinic for some of the world’s greatest dictators in how to circumvent a free press.

Transported to Soviet-era Moscow? Those are strong words coming from the left-wing MSM, or am I redundant here?

The Author continues:

The only part of the summit, other than a post-meeting news conference, that was visible to the public was Obama’s eight-minute opening statement, which ended with the words: “I’m going to ask that we take a few moments to allow the press to exit before our first session.”

Reporters for foreign outlets, many operating in repressive countries, got the impression that the vaunted American freedoms are not all they’re cracked up to be.

Yasmeen Alamiri from the Saudi Press Agency got this lesson in press freedom when trying to cover Obama’s opening remarks as part of a limited press “pool”: “The foreign reporters/cameramen were escorted out in under two minutes, just as the leaders were about to begin, and Obama was going to make remarks. . . . Sorry, it is what it is.”

I wonder if the haute journalistes of the New York Times have caught on to this? Specifically the Global Edition. I bet not, and in fact, a search shows not.

One might say Mr. Obama wants to control the narrative. I wonder if he pissed off any American journalists. This should be a bigger story than it is.

Libertarian Politics Live: Waco Tea Party and Michigan GOP

with 4 comments

Libertarian Politics Live Tonight

Our first guest will be Toby Marie Walker, president of the Waco Tea Party in Waco, Texas. We will have fun with Marie, talking trash about Michael Steele and his obsessive use of the race card.

Our second guest is Tom Casperson, co-chair of the Northern Michigan Gop, and resident of the 1st congressional District, Bart Stupak’s home territory. Now that Stupak isn’t running, it’s a likely GOP pickup; we will be discussing the dynamics of the race.

Call in at 1 (646) 915-9887. Show starts at 8PM CST Tuesday, April 13.

Thank you for reading this blog.

The Supplicant In Chief

with 4 comments

The supplicant in chief is at it again. Having grown bored by the brickbats of the Tea Party, he decided to stir things up with a bowing session with Chinese President Hu Jintao during the official arrivals for the Nuclear Security Summit. Not to end there, Barry hugged Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. My only question is, does Barry prefer to be the fellator or irrumator? The people in the Castro District want to know. May be he’s just a back door man?

All kidding about Barry’s buggery aside, you have to admit he never misses an opportunity to supplicate himself to leaders of countries that do not have our best interests at heart. I find it interesting and a clue to the man’s psyche. He’ll treat friends like Bibi and the Dalai Lama like crap, but does his best Linda Lovelace impression for our enemies. Go figure. May be he thinks other countries will like us more. May be he’s just daft. Whatever the case it’s absurd.

Change, But No Hope: Justice Stevens retires

leave a comment »

Another lat post. I had wanted to post this Friday, but never got the chance.

All the hullaballoo about Stevens is likely to be much ado about nothing. The reason is, he’s a liberal justice stepping down very likely to be replaced by the same. A effect of zero. A larger tragedy would be if Scalia, Alito or Thomas retired during an Obama presidency. That would be catastrophic.

So now we are faced with the prospect of having a Diane Wood, Elena Kagen, Merrick Garland or god forbid Janet Incompetano.

It’s not the end of the world, just a continuation of the liberal seat held by Stevens, the same as when The Wise Latina was appointed. Basically the status quo.

So take heart my libertarian fellows, real change and hope is coming this November. It will be the rebirth of the classical liberal movement and herald better days ahead in spite of the fabian socialist cacasotto and mountebank in chief that currently resides in the White House. Better days are coming.

PS: Is Stevens being a Cubs Fan indicative of anything? Go Yankees!

Judas is a Kamikaze: Stupak to retire

leave a comment »

I am a little late to this party, as the plane crash yesterday preempted this article, so here goes…

In the case of Bart Stupak, I have to say he is a Judas who is a Kamikaze. While feigning principle in holding the pro-life position that he would not vote for Obamacare if it funded abortions, it seems he was looking for some sort of easy out to vote for it and he got  it in the presidential executive order which would prohibit federal funding of abortions, but has as much teeth as a 100 year southern dirt farmer that chewed tobacco all his life.

John Batchelor has an interesting take on it:

The Tea Party sends in a three-bus caravan to MI-1 to raise money to defeat Stupak, and before it arrives Stupak retires. Coincidence? Those Tea Party buses will reproduce like bunnies. The Tea Party becomes the juggernaut without a candidate other than “Anybody but You.” Stupak suddenly reverses field and stages a Stupak love conference that FNC carries live. Coincidence? Who is producing this wacky opera? Would like the transcripts of the phone calls Stupak made to Mrs. Pelosi and Steny Hoyer: “Hello, Bart; what? What!?” It is far better than the Gingrich Zombie opera. Vote ’em all out! Empty Congress! De-Federalize? Bart, we hardly knew you, and you still have that State Trooper steadiness even in retreat.

I disagree that Stupak has some sort of trooper steadiness or that in some way is principled in the matter as some would assert, but rather saw the writing on the wall with regards to the Tea Party and also didn’t want to be the democrat that forestalled Obamacare. Remember, he is a democrat. You also have to consider that with the impending loses including his own, he more that likely will find a cozy job working for a contributor or as a lobbyist, therefore he needed a plausible way to satisfy everyone within the circle of influence that matters to him.

In the end, he sold his soul for a false promise. Such people are not heroes or even good people, but people  that sell out for a mere metaphorical 30 pieces. In this case he did it willingly if not deliberately, and I am sure for more than 30 pieces in the end. Bart, you are a sfacime.

Arizona Makes Changes To Its Conceal Carry Law

with 6 comments

This is from the blog, Virtual Mirage, written by LL. I have always respected his work and felt we are cut from the same cloth. Here is an article from his blog of today, and I am happy to reprint it here with my full endorsement. I will also add that not only am I a huge defender of the second amendment, but I am a huge proponent of not only shall issue laws, but open carry as well. In the case of Arizona, it seems that they have gone beyond shall issue right to unrestricted concealed carry, like Alaska and Vermont. Bravo I say, and more power to them and any state that follows them.

Arizona Conceal Carry Law by LL

On Thursday, the Arizona House voted to make the state the third in the nation to allow people to carry concealed weapons without a permit. The legislation, approved by the House 36-19 without discussion, would make it legal for most U.S. citizens 21 or older to carry a concealed weapon in Arizona without the permit now required. Governor Jan Brewer is expected to sign the measure into law.

Arizona will join Alaska and Vermont in not requiring permits to carry concealed weapons. Forty-five other states require permits for hidden guns, and two states — Illinois and Wisconsin — prohibit them altogether.

Firearms restrictions only affect people who want to follow the rules because criminals will carry hidden guns regardless of the law.

Under the measure, Arizonans would still be subject to the background checks federal law requires when buying firearms from a store. People carrying a concealed weapon would be required to tell a police officer if asked, and the officer could temporarily take the weapon while communicating with the gun carrier.

Brewer, a Republican who took office in January 2009, is very supportive of citizen’s rights to own, bear and retain arms. Her predecessor, Democrat Janet Napolitano, vetoed several measures pushed by gun-rights supporters before resigning to run the U.S. Homeland Security Department.

On Monday, Brewer signed two bills loosening gun restrictions. One bill broadened the state’s current restrictions on local governments’ ability to regulate or tax guns and ammunition. The other bill declares that guns manufactured entirely in Arizona are exempt from federal oversight and are not subject to federal laws restricting the sale of firearms or requiring them to be registered.

I like Arizona!

( – A new reportpublished by shows that more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens results in fewer deaths from the use of firearms. [I never thought I’d see MSNBC put out a pro-firearm story no matter what the reality of the situation is.]

“Firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens prevent 1 million robberies, murders and rapes every year,” John Pierce, a Virginia-based gun-rights activist with, told

Alan M. Gottlieb, vice president of the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), called the finding “further evidence that everything the gun prohibitionists have been claiming and predicted over the past two decades has been fundamentally fraudulent.”

EVERYWHERE concealed carrying of firearms has been legalized, crime dropped. Allowing honest people to arm themselves made criminals more wary when committing crime. Criminals will always be armed. Allowing citizens the same right merely levels the playing field.  We’re talking reality here, not how life should be in a perfect, utopian world.

Polish President Dead: Who’s Happy?

with 4 comments

According to the Daily Mail UK, “Polish president Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria have been killed after their plane crashed on approach to Smolensk airport in western Russia.

There were conflicting reports today of the number of people on board the flight. Russian news agencies reported at least 88 people died in the crash near Smolensk airport in western Russia, citing the Russian Emergencies Ministry. They reported 132 people were aboard the Tupolev Tu-154″.

According to the BBC, “Poland’s army chief, central bank governor, MPs and leading historians were among more than 80 passengers.
They were flying in from Warsaw to mark 70 years since the Katyn massacre of thousands of Poles by Soviet forces.”

Poland has been a stanch Ally to the United States and Putin has bristled at the the possibility of Poland buying missile defense systems from the United States. In general, Putin has eschewed any positive relationship between the US and former east block nations. Under the the current administration, Obama has dropped his drawers and become Putin’s Bitch. With the latest treaty and policies, Obama is letting Russia in the front door, so who looks like the leader of the (free?) world?

Lech Walesa has tried to give us a wake up call, telling us that “we have lost our moral and political position of leadership in the world.” This is very true and has been something coming for a long time, not just a recent development with the election of Barack Hussein Obama, although he has precipitated that decline at a breakneck pace. Don’t believe me? Look at the actions of China, Russia, and our other enemies. They take the piss so regularly that America has become a Pissoir for the rest of the world.

What we have to see is who is happy about this event. While seemingly an accident, with Putin, the Ex-KGB Doyen, will undoubtedly have a smile on his face. You have to wonder what will follow. Generally speaking, presidents of countries have the best pilots at their disposal. You’d think he would have aborted the landing and landed elsewhere.
